Popularly known for having the cleanest, most beautiful resorts and stunning beaches along Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, Antalya is also a thriving modern city set on high cliffs and rugged mountains highlighted by the richness of its history and ancient past.

Despite being a major tourist center of Turkey known for its beautiful, panoramic sun-kissed beaches, charming harbors, secluded coves, and lush forests, Antalya, the Turkish Riviera continues to grow and attract more tourists year after year due to its natural and archaeological wealth.  More so, Antalya is not just a city with charming beach resorts but its also a very significant place wherein ancient cities, memorial tombs, and old city walls lie amid a modern city with a rich historic heart.

The old town of Kaleiçi for instance is a very peaceful and beautiful place where one can see centuries-old Ottoman mansions restored and reconstructed into very charming boutique hotels nearby a panoramic harbor.  And while cars and other types of motorized vehicles are prohibited to enter in the narrow streets of the old town, this makes Kaleiçi into a very suitable place for locals and tourists to walk around the historical town and do some sightseeing.

Antalya also has a very wide selection of hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops that are easily accessible and conveniently located in the city and in the beach resort areas.  Most of Antalya’s grandest and most luxurious hotels are located in the outskirts of the town, overlooking the Mediterranean sea with a stunning backdrop of a beautiful mountain scenery.

Other famous holiday resorts nearby Antalya are Alanya, Belek, Kalkan, Kaş, Kekova, Kemer, and Side which are just within the borders of the Antalya region.  Antalya also boasts of several great museums with interesting pieces from the Palaeolithic Age to the Ottoman times which are intricately displayed at the city’s Archaeological Museum.
